We're a family run business that have been involved in outdoor activities for generations. Growing up in Africa, we've visited some of the most remote places on Earth, which has led us to pursue the passion of creating Offgrid Power Solutions!

We're based in the UK and love helping customers to build the best vans possible! Whether you're based in the UK or anywhere in the world, I'm confident we can help you with your van build in some way. We offer custom van builds, consultancy to advise on the best offgrid power system for your build or even just recommending products. We love seeing our customers build out awesome adventure vehicles & hit the road chasing that dream! 

Where did Offgrid Power Solutions come from?

This red Land Rover was called Nudge. Nudge was a faithful old series 3 ex-military landy that started our obsession and passion for adventure travel. There were countless times, when we lived in Zimbabwe, that we loaded her to the brim and set off on some of the most epic adventures you could imagine. We went to wildlife reserves, Victoria Falls (one of the seven natural wonders of the world), & so much more. Nudge was reliable & faithful, but most importantly, she enabled us to travel to places that were untouchable with a normal car or on foot. If we didn’t have Nudge, we would not have had the adventures that we grew up with and would not be the people that we are today.

Our commitment to you is that we will be whatever we can to enable you to be able to have those sort of adventures! There is so much to see and so much adventure to be had. We want to see you build out the perfect adventure vehicle that will enable you to be able to hit the road and explore places that otherwise would be unattainable.

Picture this, if you will, you want to travel from the UK to Bulgaria and back, stopping off wherever you want to, staying in certain places longer than others when you find somewhere awesome, have a coffee with an awesome view of the sea outside your bedroom window & and eat fresh pastries in the morning under the beautiful sun in the south of France. If you were to try and do this sort of trip by car & hotel rooms, the logistics of trying to coordinate that would be a nightmare plus you’d be tied in to a specific plan with places that you need to stay and where you need to be at certain times. The beauty of building a rig (whether a van, overlander or camper) is that you can be fully self contained & offgrid, so you don’t need an electrical hookup, you can just drive, stop, sleep, stay longer, go quicker, chill, enjoy that coffee in bed looking at the ocean. That’s a dream right there! And that’s the dream that we want to help you to achieve!

Who is Offgrid Power SOlutions?

ROGER

Roger grew up in South Africa on a cattle ranch and has spent most of his life camping, exploring and looking for adventure in wild places. This led to owning a number of 4x4s over the years that were built out as overlanders. He currently owns a campervan that's completely self contained and built for offgrid adventure travels. He's done many epic trips, including the dream that we described above of driving from England to Bulgaria and back. 

Through the years of experience in the field & research preparing, Roger has tried many vanlife & offgrid products, built up an enormous wealth of knowledge in every aspect of vanlife (offgrid power systems, van conversions, mechanics & much more!), which has led to where we are now where we are confident in saying that we're one of the leading UK companies that specialises in van conversions & installing offgrid power solutions.

NIGEL

Nigel (Roger's son) was born in Zimbabwe and grew up following in his Dad's footsteps of adventure and exploration. He has a passion for photography and filmmaking - posting videos on YouTube and also runs a wedding videography business.

Nigel followed in his Dad's footsteps of loving all things 4x4 and vanlife. Having owned several Land Cruisers over the years and camper van of his own now, Nigel loves to travel and explore this beautiful world. Based in Northern Ireland, Nigel is often out exploring what the island of Ireland has to offer with his family. Nigel is a speciality coffee addict and will often be seen enjoying the perfect V60 brew in his campervan, with an epic seaside backdrop.

Even at a young age, Nigel almost loved the preparation for a trip more than the trip itself, so spends hours (if not days) tinkering, tweaking, building, changing, improving his rig. This has led to many, many days with a tool in hand learning the intricacies of building out the perfect vanlife vehicle. Whether that’s a Land Cruiser built out as an overlander or a Mercedes Sprinter van conversion, Nigel eats, sleeps & dreams about this stuff.
